Under the management of Araw Hospitality Group, the reimagined resort introduces elevated accommodations, new dining concepts, and wellness experiences while deepening its connection to Coron’s natural and cultural identity.

Some destinations leave visitors with photographs. Others leave them with memories.

For Bacau Bay Coron, that distinction has become the inspiration behind its next chapter.

(From left) Group Director of Operations Ely Wray Ciudad, Group Director of Marketing Christie Lumagbas, Bacau Bay General Manager Edmund Valencia, CEO and Chief Englightener Jean Henri Lhuillier, Chief Operating Officer Corny Caedo, Group Head of Culinary Chef RJ Garcia, and Head of Finance, JAS Deisgn& Build Sandy Ocampo lead the official unveiling of Bacau Bay Coron’s transformation under Rooted in Wonder, marking a new chapter for the resort under Araw Hospitality Group.

Officially unveiled on June 22, the resort’s transformation marks more than a physical refresh. Under the stewardship of Araw Hospitality Group, Bacau Bay enters a new era defined by elevated experiences, thoughtful hospitality, and a deeper connection to the destination it calls home.

Guided by the theme Rooted in Wonder, the relaunch introduces refreshed accommodations, three new dining concepts, and a revitalized wellness sanctuary, all designed to offer guests a more immersive and memorable stay in one of the Philippines’ most celebrated island destinations.

“Bacau Bay is not a new name in Coron. We first opened our doors back in 2019 under PJ Lhuillier Inc. Over the years, we built a solid foundation here. But as the travel landscape evolved, we realized that this property was capable of much more,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, Chief Enlightener and CEO of Araw Hospitality Group.

That realization led to a strategic decision in 2025 to transition the management of the property to Araw Hospitality Group, one of the country’s fastest-growing hospitality companies with a growing portfolio of destinations across the Philippines.

“Our mandate for Araw with this property is straightforward: to scale Bacau Bay into a world-class resort,” Lhuillier said. “The goal is to elevate our standards, infrastructure, and service to compete globally, while injecting the exact same distinct flair and authentic Filipino soul that defines every single Araw property.”

The transformation begins with the guest experience.

Returning visitors will discover newly refreshed accommodations designed to blend premium comfort with island-inspired warmth and local character. The resort has also expanded its culinary offerings with the introduction of two distinct dining concepts, each bringing a unique flavor to Coron’s evolving food scene.

Kaigan Teppanyaki Bar offers an interactive Japanese dining experience where skilled chefs transform meals into theatrical performances. Sirena Pier Bar provides a sophisticated setting for sunset cocktails overlooking the bay, while Pugon Beachside Pizzeria brings a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere centered around wood-fired pizzas and casual gatherings.

Complementing these additions is the renewed Alon Spa, reimagined as a sanctuary for rest, wellness, and restoration.

“We didn’t just change the management; we heavily reinvested in the asset to deliver a complete premium ecosystem,” Lhuillier added. “Today, we are launching refreshed rooms that blend premium comfort with local design, two bold new dining concepts to elevate Coron’s culinary footprint, and a completely rejuvenated Alon Spa focused on wellness.”

Yet while the physical enhancements are significant, the vision behind the relaunch extends beyond facilities and amenities.

For Araw Hospitality, the goal is to create experiences that foster a deeper sense of connection—to place, to people, and to the moments that ultimately define travel.

Chief Operating Officer Corny Caedo believes those moments are what guests remember most.

“At the end of the day, what guests remember isn’t necessarily the room they stayed in or the activity they booked. It’s how a place made them feel,” said Caedo. “Our goal is for every guest to leave Bacau Bay with a core memory—whether that’s a sunset shared with family, a memorable meal, a moment of quiet by the mangroves, or simply the warmth of Filipino hospitality that stays with them long after they’ve returned home.”

That philosophy is reflected in the property’s setting itself.

Named after the bakawan trees that line Coron’s shores, Bacau Bay is uniquely positioned within a mangrove-fringed bay that offers a quieter perspective of the destination. The natural surroundings have become an important part of the resort’s identity, influencing both its design and its approach to hospitality.

The relaunch also reinforces the property’s commitment to celebrating local culture and strengthening its ties to the community. As part of its long-term vision, Bacau Bay continues to explore opportunities that support local suppliers, local talent, and initiatives that contribute to the sustainable growth of Coron as a tourism destination.

“This relaunch marks a bold new chapter for Bacau Bay Coron, but it is also the result of many hands working together,” said Edmund Valencia, General Manager of Bacau Bay Coron. “We are grateful for the support of the local government, our tourism partners, the community, and our dedicated team, whose shared vision and collaboration made this transformation possible. We look forward to welcoming guests to experience the very best of Coron through the warmth of Filipino hospitality.”

For Lhuillier, the relaunch represents a shared vision between the private sector, local stakeholders, and tourism leaders who continue to shape Coron’s future.

As travelers increasingly seek experiences that are authentic, personal, and rooted in place, Bacau Bay’s new chapter reflects a growing belief that hospitality is about more than where people stay. It is about what they take home. And in Coron, those memories are just beginning.
