Marking its fifth milestone year, the Palawan Content Creators Conference (PALCON) once again drew an overwhelming crowd of aspiring and professional digital creators from across Palawan and various parts of the Philippines. Held on September 26 at the NCCC Mall Palawan Convention Hall along Lacao Street in Puerto Princesa City, this year’s vibrant gathering welcomed an impressive turnout of roughly 700 attendees.

The event featured an engaging lineup of prominent guest speakers, including internet personality and TikTok star Prince Adrian Dagdag from Pampanga, widely recognized as Pambansang Chawot; Francis Candiyey, the first Filipino international solo traveler; Cebu-based tech and AI creator Duekneel; and Manila-based lifestyle content creators Andrea Rose and Rozel Basilio. Adding a strong regional touch, the roster of local speakers highlighted horror podcasters Steve and Nyx Magay of Book of Bad Ideas, Brooke’s Point-based biodiversity content creator Ann Kaalaman, Cuyo’s island life creator Singkarath Vlog, and Busuanga’s makeup transformation queen Angeline Escaran.

The program kicked off with inspiring opening remarks from Puerto Princesa City Tourism Assistant Tourism Officer Dreu Manlawe and Vice Mayor Jimbo Maristela. The energetic crowd was also treated to special performances by the Banwa Dance and Arts, Tawag ng Tanghalan finalist Aeron Guanco, Puerto Popstar champion Bryle Villaluz, and Palawan drag comedian Queen Palita.

Sharing valuable industry insights during their respective talks, Duekneel emphasized the importance of clearly identifying one’s target viewers, while travel creator Candiyey noted that content creation is fundamentally simple, requiring just a bright idea, a smartphone or camera, and an internet connection. Andrea Rose highlighted the importance of keeping audiences hooked and eagerly anticipating future posts, whereas Rozel Basilio underscored the goal of winning genuine viewer loyalty so they stay for the long run. Adding a motivating note for beginners, Chawot advised creators to keep producing content even when nobody is watching, using the experience as personal inspiration to push forward.

The local speakers similarly imparted powerful messages during the conference. The duo behind Book of Bad Ideas stressed the value of learning lessons from viral posts, while Singkarath encouraged creators to utilize their native languages to showcase their local cultures. Ann Kaalaman issued a passionate call to protect and preserve the environment so future generations can experience its beauty, and Angeline Escaran emphasized self-care, noting that treating oneself well directly reflects positively on the quality of online content.

First launched in 2022, PALCON has evolved into the premier annual gathering for content creators in Palawan, drawing visiting creators from diverse regions. Beyond fostering a strong community, the conference aims to introduce creators to various brands operating within the city and province.

Adding to the event’s growing prestige, bloggers and media representatives from Manila and Baguio City traveled to cover the festivities, featuring outlets and personalities such as LionhearTV, Ohohleo.ph, LarizaGarcia.com, and Macky Benj.
