Palawan’s very own Pearl Hung was recently crowned Miss Global Philippines 2023 at Novotel Manila, Araneta City and will represent the country in the international pageant early next year. The prestigious title was conferred upon her by Shane Quintana Tormes, the reigning Miss Global 2022, and Pauline Sofia Laping, the CEO and national director of Miss Global Philippines.
Pearl’s journey to this pinnacle of beauty and empowerment has been nothing short of extraordinary. Joining Miss World Philippines for the first time in 2018, she was named 2nd runner-up. Five years later, she joined Miss Global Philippines 2023, only her second pageant which she is determined to win for the country. Having faced adversity early in life after the loss of both her parents, Pearl’s story is a testament to triumph over hardships. Her inner strength, matched only by her external grace, exemplifies resilience and determination.
Beyond the world of pageantry, Pearl is an epitome of remarkable talents and diverse interests. She is an innovator in business systems, an advanced open water and free diver, a poet, a composer of songs, and an accomplished author with impactful books such as “The Breakthrough Book” and “#PearlNotes Magical Insights of Awareness” to her credit. However, her achievements aren’t limited to personal success.
Pearl has dedicated herself to initiatives that create a meaningful difference. From devising an online marketing system to assist overseas Filipino workers in reuniting with their families to mentoring over a thousand individuals from diverse backgrounds, her commitment to uplifting others knows no bounds. Moreover, Pearl’s influence extends globally through her positive and empowering content that has touched nearly 2 million followers across various social media platforms, making her a symbol of empowerment and optimism.
Recognized as an advocate for financial literacy education in the Philippines, Pearl actively imparts her wisdom through talks and symposiums at universities, emphasizing the importance of financial knowledge. As she gears up to represent the Philippines on the Miss Global stage in Cambodia in January 2024, Pearl hopes to inspire people to reach for their dreams and never allow adversity to bring them down.
