Expanding from its roots in Bohol, the boutique Amorita Resort & Spa officially opened its doors in Puerto Princesa City on March 1. The soft launch event was graced by owner Atty. Nikki Cauton, who was joined by several invited stakeholders from the local tourism sector.
Located in Ponce De Leon, Brgy. San Pedro—directly across from its sister property, The Funny Lion—the resort is situated on a lush five-hectare estate. This boutique hotel features 68 rooms, ranging from Junior Suites to Junior Twin rooms, along with 14 high-end Palawan Pool Villas. Each villa is equipped with its own swimming pool, high-ceiling interiors, and an elegant open-air bathtub area.
For its soft launch promo, rates for the junior rooms start at approximately ₱9,000 per night. Meanwhile, the Palawan Pool Villas range from ₱30,000 to ₱40,000 per night, making them an ideal choice for honeymooners or families with two children.
General Manager Nilo Quizon emphasized that the beachfront property deeply incorporates local vibes. The resort’s dining venue, Katala Restaurant, is named as a tribute to Palawan’s endemic bird, which can often be spotted on the property. To further honor the local ecosystem, the menu features moringa—the Katala’s favorite food—as well as freshly harvested pineapples from the town of Bataraza.

The soft launch program was highlighted by music and entertainment from singer Princess April and a guest DJ from Manila. Among the local guests in attendance were Department of Tourism Palawan Director Oliver Garcia, Palawan Tourism Officer Maribelle Buni, City Tourism Officer Demetrio Alvior, and City Councilor Matthew Mendoza.
